Tell us a little bit about yourself:

My name is Savanna Boggess, I was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, SC. I grew up going to church and I accepted Christ when I was 14. I moved to Charleston, SC about 4 years ago. I have been attending Vertical Church Charleston for about 3 years. Since attending Vertical my relationship with Christ has truly flourished. Through my growing relationship with Christ I was able to go to Togo, Africa over the summer of 2022 for 6 weeks with the 6° team. Through the internship program I really fell in love with the people group and what God is doing in the lives of the Togolese. I will now be going back for 2 years for the residency program.

Why are you working with 6DI?

I was first introduced to the 6° team when my church partnered with them. I was then able to go on the 6 week internship program and work with the team on the ground in Togo. I admire the team values and the way that they are reaching the people of Togo with the Gospel. This along with many other reasons is why I am working with the 6° team!

What is your favorite person (other than Jesus) in the Bible and why?

My second favorite person in the Bible is Paul. I enjoy reading about Paul's life and how he reached the nations for Christ. I admire how when God said go, he went without question. When God told him to go without anything and without knowing where he would sleep that night, he went. I aspire to live my life like Paul, when God tells me to go I will go. I also admire how he asks for prayer; he was an incredible apostle for God and yet he still knew he needed the strength that only God can provide to continue on the journey.

When you are not working, what do you enjoy doing?  

Spending time in God’s word. I also enjoy spending time with friends, playing board games and having good conversation. I enjoy going to the rock climbing gym, reading books and baking. I am also always up for the challenge of learning something new!

How can those who are reading your profile be praying for you?

I am currently raising support to go to Togo, prayers for partnership development and raising the funds that I need for spending 2 years in Togo!
